Help school children, more activity into your daily life running a club after school (can include the Wanderer). Since a car is easy to make and easy to maintain, plus you get to connect the running and walking - so will get your fitness level to a boost. A running club for children requires very little equipment and costs nothing.

Difficulty: Easy

Time: the installation of a couple of hours to run plus a few hours a week or on foot

Here is how:

  1. Take an informal survey of parents and children to your school. Is there an interest in the management of a child after school club? Or a place for recreation? Some children can run, and some may go.
  2. Talk to the manager to get feedback, buy-in and information about the next steps. Find out what types would be necessary permission forms if you need a faculty sponsor, the number of adult supervisors should be involved, and so on. Children must leave school backpacks in the execution of the club is on the road to ensure that they can go later. (For a vacation club, you stay in school.)
  3. Spread the word. A display in the classroom or unsubscribe, please send an e-mail to parents, preparing a quick flyer for the kids backpacks. Set a date for their first meeting and invite interested parents and children achieve.
  4. Establish ground rules: children should have the opportunity to participate; stay on track sidewalk / jogging; waiting at the corner to cross the street with an adult; etc
  5. The determination of a route. If your school has a great plot, or you will meet during the school day, circling the rim. O draw a safe route along local roads. For some children will be faster than others, you are looking for a short or a long cycle. Younger children (kindergarten and first grade) may be a one-mile walk. • Signed permission slip from the children
  • List of participants in and check-out
  • One way to communicate with parents, such as flyers or e-mail

Fitness and physical activity for school-age children ...

Updated May 19, 2014.

Short bursts of 15, 10 or even 5 minutes count for the number of days, so make sure that your child has many opportunities for physical activity before, during and after school.

Physical activities in the school

Academics are important, but find time for fitness. If children have the ability to run and play at recess, will be more (and move less) during class. Physical education (PE) provides a further opportunity at school to move while. It also makes children new sports and games, and represents a significant health habits.

But not all children sufficient recess and PE time:

  • Only 8% of elementary schools provide daily physical education.
  • Only nine states require elementary schools provide daily recess.

The National Association for Sport and Physical Education, among other groups, recommends at least 150 minutes per week physical education for elementary school students, which means 30 minutes per day on average. The association also encourages schools to plan daily rent for at least a period of 20 minutes. If your school does not meet these goals (many do not), ask the principal or school management, to account for changes and find ways to help your child to stay active outside of school hours.

Physical activities in the park, playground or pool

6 In the early age of seven elementary school, most children's physical coordination and attention, and the ability to understand the rules, you have to practice in organized sports. A few years later, between 10 and 12 years and handled the added pressure of the team competition.

Look for classes and recreational leagues, fitness emphasize strengthening the skills, fair play, and above all, fun. Ask. Your child for the sport that interests you, and give you the opportunity to try many different activities The two will be surprised what to do well and loves it in!

If your child loves team sports, try:

If your child prefers to take into account the individual activities:

Physical activities at home

Give the children all the time and space to play, as you can. Develop a variety of physical activities. The mixture helps children do not get bored and also helps to work many muscle groups. The emphasis on fun and action (without competition or "should").

Try these ideas for Family Fitness (hey, it could probably a little exercise too!)

  • Walking or Hiking (Find a track near you)
  • Cycling or skating
  • Jump rope or shoot a tire
  • Play ball or Frisbee
  • Outdoor games such as chatting, Mother May I, Red Light Green Light or
  • Within dance
  • Running in the sprinkler, spraying each other with a hose or other water play activities

Does your child get enough exercise?

Updated April 16, 2014th

Small children are not an extra boost to have to move their bodies busy, right? It seems so, but do not add the amount of physical activity for preschoolers often. End of 1970, about 5% of children aged 2-5 years were overweight. Recently, this figure rose to almost 14%, according to the Centers for Disease Control and prevention of disease. How to promote physical activity for preschoolers?

Recommend society health and physical education guidelines in the following format for young children.

Preschool (3-5 years) children should go:

  • At least 60 minutes per day, physical activities cumulatively
  • At least 60 minutes a day (and up to several hours) of unstructured physical activity
  • To do no more than 60 minutes at a time sedentary activities, unless they sleep

For small children (aged 12-36 months), are the same, except for structured physical activity to 30 minutes a day instead of 60 add up the recommendations.

The doctrine of the movement for preschoolers

What is the game "structured" means? Young children need help in learning motor skills. Must pass through several stages of development to learn to coordinate their movements efficiently, throwing, catching, and so on. "There is a misconception that if you take the children to play, learn" on their own, said Jackie Goodway, Ph.D., Associate Professor of motor development and elementary education in physical education from Ohio State University professor. "But it's like reading. If you do not teach them to give feedback to them and to practice and learning opportunities appropriate" are not to master these skills.

While formal classes can be wonderful, Goodway said that parents are the best models. To promote physical activity and motor development of the child, spend time actively playing with him. They give positive constructive feedback ("Kick a little slower next time" or "I love how was your food"). Provide toys and age-appropriate equipment, like a wiffle ball bat and a fat plastic instead of heavy wood. If your child is in a class of movement enrollment ensure that it is compatible with their level of development. Children at this age are not ready for team sports, and should not waste time waiting their turn on the bench. Instead of a ball and 10 children, for example, each child should have their own ball.

Promoting physical activity with preschoolers

To ensure that your child his hour a day (or more) physical game, try:

  • Day or hunting: For variety, hop, waddle, or dancing instead of running
  • Catch or kickball (experiment with balls of different sizes and textures)
  • Wash pool or other water sources, such as running a sprinkler system or the car
  • A tricycle or scooter
  • Crawl through a tunnel of cardboard box
  • Dance scarves or ribbons that make it even more exciting,
  • Internal obstacle: Creating an array of sofa cushions, rings (and jump off), aligned to form a tunnel or equilibrium chairs, etc.

Kickball games and variations

Updated 10 June 2014.

Kickball games are that are becoming increasingly popular in many areas of school games and adult leagues. Part of the appeal of kick is its simplicity. It is very easy to learn and play. But if you or your children ever tired to play a bit as usual, you can always change the rules or try one of the following options.

For most of them, as regularly kick, you must set the ground rules before the game: How many outlets for the team to come in retirement? Where is the foul territory (or only once)? How many rounds do you play? and so on.

Great base

Your children can play in the school gym, use of gym mats, the basics (hence the name "Big Base"). On your own, you can play outside if you so to have an area large enough the game. Use chalk or small orange cones mark their large bases.

The game is similar to a regular kick, except riders can gather in large bases. Each core can contain more than one player instead of a. You can even ask for runners circle the bases before two goals to two rounds, or turn to the left and to the right. Or alternatively play the variation "crazy style." Players go from home to first base and third base, then the second, then back on the disk.

Basketball football base

You need a basketball hoop for the game of kick (a park, in a gym or at home in the driveway). The kicker is subject tires and pitcher rolls the ball with her. Once it starts, it starts, the goals, while the defense gets the ball. Once a defensive player has the ball, tries to shoot a basket. If he leads, is kicker.

Kickball Online

Instead of dividing into two equal teams start the game with a single person. Everyone has to start the computer company. They are all fed in a row home. As soon as the first person in line kicks the ball, everyone starts (except the pitcher) basics. Must mark each base, but they can not stay on base. You have to keep around the bases to home plate and run.

As soon as the pitcher gets the ball, you can score points by throwing the ball runner. Any person who is outside is a gardener and start helping pitcher. If you prefer, you can use a rule that only the pitcher can really make a runner; Gardeners can not retrieve and throw the ball to the pitcher.

When the last person rounded up in the line of recordings marble, start again with a new node in the front of the line.

Non-Pitch

It's like T-Ball version of kickball. Instead of T, place the ball on the plate directly to your home. The game begins when the kicker kicks the ball on the ground. If the defensive team catches the ball in the air, which is an issue. But if not, or the ball rolls, gardeners have to get the ball. Then back towards home Your receiver capture and place on the plate. As soon as the ball hit the plate, any driver who is not on a base.

Activity Kickball

Play this classic game like kick, with one exception: Each base the driver performed a task or activity, to give. This could be something hopping on one foot, to say a tongue twister to do a push up.

You can make this change also extend the obligation of the defensive team to participate. After a fielder gets the ball, throwing to teammates at first base. He should do the same job as the driver has to do. Once you are ready, the ball to second base, where the second baseman second base business, launches and so on around the base.

Base

Streamline the field with this variant: Only a motherboard of the house. Set the base directly in front of home plate (where the usual second base). Try to score points, must the football out of the house at the base and drove back home. You can stay on the base when (not labeled), but it should work if your next team mate kicks.

Shock; what I learned from my children # 039

Updated September 22, 2014.

I consider myself very well informed about concussion (mild traumatic alias, TCL or brain injury). I've written a lot about TCL for this page. I attended conferences, dug in scientific research, and interviewed top experts.

, The shock of eyes my own son, however, remained open. This is what surprised me.

1 symptoms are elusive. After the incident, which ironically does not include sports my daughter mentioned headaches and nausea and fatigue first. I was not able to connect the dots, as we were on holiday, the weather was very hot, our routine was different, and so on. Even after the diagnosis, I was confused. Is violated because of the concussion of the head, or because they worry about missing school are because they are either not distracted by your normal activities?

Two other really matters. Already the crash happened while we were on vacation, and (see above), which was what had happened, we had a rhythm of work. On the third day after the incident, my daughter was too weak and ill to go and needs a wheelchair.

3 wound is really invisible. Leaving our daughter to do too much too soon after his concussion, because we do not realize that he still symptoms. And even with my knowledge of the shock, I was doubtful: Could it all with this blow to the head, a few weeks ago? Would have liked clearer that my son had, have made their symptoms. And I wish I had taken more seriously from the beginning.

4 of recovery is slow and frustrating. According to TBI was finally diagnosed by a physician assistant, start the recovery process for good. This means complete physical and cognitive rest, or, as the AP described it, the absolute boredom: It is very difficult for the patient and for the whole "If you're not completely bored you too." World around them! All I could do was sleep and embrace our dogs. After a few days some gentle activities are tolerated, including the kitchen and hear, read books.

5 Healthy habits can help. Using over-the-counter medications for the treatment of pain is acceptable after TBI, but this does not work for my son. We talked with them and concentrated in sleep (sleep much!), Hydration (plenty of water!), And nutritious food rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, spinach and flax seed. Of course, you should follow your doctor's advice about him; recommended dietary fatty fish.

6 school could surprise My daughter has three full days of school lost, then again a short time later. Lessons, one day, the price for the next morning in the prevention of noise and chaos of the dining room. Since the injury came at the beginning of the school year in a school that was new for both of us, I do not know what to expect when I called his repeated absences. But before we even medical excuse in hand, the school was very helpful. Obviously, and unfortunately the staff is used to treat traumatic brain injury in the student body.

I thought it was clever and conservative concussion before this incident. Well, if one of my children is hurt again, I'll much better prepared to respond to. I just hope that they do not have.

Why volunteering is the best way to keep your ...

Updated September 17, 2014.

For busy families, volunteer work is a great multitasking. And volunteer opportunities for families to offer outdoor assets even more benefits: with the support of a cause and time to spend time together, you also get physical activity and "green time" Examiner. the following ways to turn your community with his sons at his side (some are appropriate for tweens and teens, but others must be open to smaller young wizard to be).

They are easy to use and gives a bit less, which follow during a training session, you will be on the form (or music) can concentrate. Jumping rope is easily adjustable, but the resistance band is very strong, so it is not good for beginners.

ProJumper Digital Jump Rope: Pros and Cons

Plus:

  • Length adjustable, durable nylon cord
  • Simple Handles
  • Traces revolutions, calories burned and elapsed time
  • You can count calories or downtime or

Cons:

  • "Function" crawls Fat in "amount of fat burned," but that the units used for clarity
  • Batteries not included

Guide Review - Jump Rope digital GNC ProJumper

If you ever wondered how to make a training jump rope on tape, so that you know how to burn a lot of calories, you can use a rope digital jump. GNC has a built in ProJumper your sensor handles and screen. Punch a few buttons, and you know how many jumps have you done (jump rope revolutions tracks), the number of minutes he jumped, and how many calories you burned. It will even tell you how much fat you burn, but it is unclear how it is calculated.

It is difficult to say exactly calorie counter point is, even if you enter your weight, so that the device can be used as a starting point. When I tried the jump rope, the number of rotation confirmed my account and thus the clock / timer. If you like getting lost in a workout and not having to keep track (this is what I like on the couch 5K application), this gadget can help.

Need digital jump rope? Not; You can easily carry their own representatives or a clock, clock, timer or already have. But if a little more data that motivates and enhances your training, then maybe this gadget will appeal. It could also be fun to use for children because they have more difficulties, the pursuit of their representatives, or together with his friends and brothers in the number of hops they actually have.

PowerUp digital resistance band: Pros and Cons

Plus:

  • Tubes slip rubber and foam grips
  • Representative songs, calories burned and elapsed time
  • Battery included

Cons:

  • Band is short / narrow
  • You can not say jump time or as few repetitions rope

Guide Review - GNC PowerUp resistance band

To pursue as jump rope, resistance band with a sensor and a display indicating the number of repetitions you do, time and calories burned. It is a middle part connecting the two ends of the strip a total of eight. The tracker does not allow you to give or take your weight when (what makes you burn calories questionable) and can not be configured to perform the repetitions or time can count as jumping rope.

For me the hardest part of the band ... it was very difficult for me. It is too short and narrow for me to use in a large number of fitness movements, otherwise you would with a resistance band. For example, if I'm in the middle and try to keep one end of the band in each hand, I can not quite stretch and bend your elbows to do a bicep curl. Obviously, if this applies to you, depending on size and fitness levels vary. But I hope that this group was adjustable, or with a light guide that is exchanged in the main.

Again, like jumping rope: a resistance group that has representatives need. But if it bothers you to lose track of your account, the PowerUp could help. Or if you travel a lot and want a group that has a dual function as a clock, PowerUp could be a good option. There is less space in your suitcase for a pair of shoes.

Fun Fall Family Fitness

Updated September 15, 2014.

Do not let the end of summer means the end of outdoor play! Plan some fun activities fall now. Fall brings new opportunities for family fitness and outdoor excursions. Get out and moves in the clear fresh air with these autumn activities for families.

Hitting the trails

With not too hot and not too cold weather, autumn is the ideal time to explore the parks, trails and other local landscape. Use a track locator to find detailed information, including the type of surface, access points, places, routes and services available to the hiking trails in your area. The National Park Service has an online directory, parks to search by name, location, activity or topic (such as fossils, caves or President of the United States).

Once you find a fun destination, there are many activities to try in the fall! Walking, bicycle basket, online or even horseback riding. Haul smaller children in a stroller or backpack frame. Bring a camera and let the children to break their own plans. Collecting dead or craft show at home with leaves. Geocaching try to add an element of cool treasure hunting at its output. Do not forget the water bottles and gorp!

Rake and Jump

Closer to home, lower the garden family fun. Everyone knows that the best reward for foliage jumps into heaps, and the advantage is that rake and break jumping to pump the heart. If you have a preschooler, you get a chip size, so that children can help, just like the big kids.

It is to be fun, mazes and paths in their leaves before packing everything into piles. Use a lawn mower or a rake to clear the way. And the children walk, run or bike paths.

Ask the children to help them with another season of work in the garden. Enter gardening gloves and make annual summer holidays. Demolition is so satisfying! (Make sure they are clear on which plants are good to go and not!) The coldest months are a great time to conifers, bulbs and annuals such as mothers in the fall when distributed shovels and let the children help dig holes.

A bountiful harvest

Choose your own sound with traditional sweet autumn activities: visit an apple orchard! Apples are in season and now there are hundreds of varieties of vegetables to choose from. Expected to experience adverse hiking, collecting, transporting and autumn leaves, apple orchards and pumpkin patches often offer all kinds of "agri-tainment". It is perhaps not a zoo, hayride, corn maze or a stack of hay bales to climb. A day to a farm near you visit. It is too much, plenty to eat and plenty to do to bring home.

Play like the pros

Fall activities are football! Take the example of the gods and Grill for a football game, or just play ball (equip children with mini football or foam). If the European football (aka soccer) is fave their children from the net to a family game. No network? Select two trees close to a target, or improvise with cardboard boxes, traffic cones, bottles or two liter soda. In addition, you can make all kinds of outdoor games, a football or soccer belong. HORSE play basketball classic with a soccer ball and net, or trying to kick the can with a football. Be creative, and off you go!

Guide Review - Couch to 5K Program App: User 5K

Update August 2013: First I checked the Couch 5K (couch to 5K then called today Easy On 5K) application more than three years. At this time, I thought it would be a one time thing: Use to start the program to run; A broker; a runner for life. As it turned out, in my career was not so linear. I finished the program, then the fitness forms back as soon as-over-sofa or other cardiovascular, as I recall.

As each runner say, if you stop, it is not easy to pick up where you left off, with the same speed, distance and time you've done before. Instead, you need to relieve the back, and this application can help you to do it. Sure, I could on my own clock. But I prefer the level, direction and Little Flare I get from using the application. From the middle of the program and after completion of works for me when I'm training for a race or just to get my exercise routine Running In.

So if you want to start the race restart or this is to get the app. Made its developer, couch popular 5K run 'beginners existing program and turned it into an application called Easy On 5K. The program guides you through a progressive plan nine weeks, beginning with a 20-minute session, alternately go eight 60 seconds jogging 90 seconds (five minutes each heating and cooling) includes. At the end of the program you are running to be able to 30 minutes without interruption.

This couch 5K program application offers to visual and audio, know when to walk and when to run, without having to keep track of the time and even intervals. At the same time, you can listen to your own music library on the device. The application remembers your progress, start the next day every time the application after a training session open to plan. You can also make notes in his training, he felt like running outdoors or on the treadmill, and so on. You can use these notes on Facebook or Twitter directly from the application.

I downloaded the program for my iPad, because I'm a bit done walking / running workouts on my own on tape, but not as the number of minutes to calculate, so you constantly follow in search of my clock or timer my progress. I wanted to increase the number of minutes spent, and I needed some kind of program to train through it. This application of the couch to 5K program, done that.

Now with the app on my iPhone, when I go out there and on my iPad when I do. Treadmill I always appreciate the input instructions of the application, if I even see my time spent in screen time the treadmill. And of course, these posts are very useful when you use and not directly in front of your face have a large digital clock!

This application is easy to use without reading the manual; just download and go. There are some simple adjustments on and off, as if you want to mix the songs your playlist or if you memories that you want in the middle of training, and so on.

My only wish for the application: I want to be able to return to a screen with suggestions or directions to stretch after exercise. It is easy to forget to stretch after a run or are confused about what stretches to do and how long do they last. Because the application contains a heating and cooling time, it would be great if it also covers the how-tos section.

Once you have completed the training program for nine weeks, you can use the application to the maintenance shop for 30 or 45 minutes, with instructions that you know how to let it happen in the time and distance you want. You can also register and Track Racing, even after completion of training.

For $ 2.99, this app is a great buy for beginner riders or those sporadic as me. (You can also do a version of this app for Android, I have not tried.) Both versions of the application have a GPS option for another 99 cents.

Guide Review - Wat-aah! Bottled Water for Children and Adolescents

My first daughter tried flavored water on a field trip. She had forgotten her water bottle to school, and a generous friend gave him a bag of water with extra flavor. Then my daughter wanted her own bags of water. But when I checked the label on the brand they had asked, I was surprised to see it was loaded with sugar and corn syrup, high fructose. I found a similar with much less sugar per serving and bought brand.

But I still prefer to have my kids drink water, no artificial flavors or things in it, so I left Wat-Aah! These water bottles come in four varieties, each container of purified water with rigor (3 in 4 "flavors") something healthy such as calcium and other electrolytes useful additions.

Wat-Aah packaging! It is for children up to the call of the designed (see product picture to see what I mean), and it really worked for my kids. She sipped through the sample bottle immediately and wanted a taste test to compare the "Blue Gender" (Wat-Aah brain!) And "pink race" (Wat-Aah! Corps). For the record, they have the same taste, the water so clear, filtered, but not my children prevent their little science experiment.

The problem I have with Wat-Aah! is the same as I do with everything (with juice boxes and) mineral water. In general, it is much better to make your own reusable bottle and fill it from your tap. This saves money and is also much more earth-friendly.

However, if your child is very resistant to water, Wat-Aah! is a good alternative to high calorie, high sugar fruit juices and sports drinks.

Pulse Slither Drift Scooter

Updated 1 January 2014.

The Bottom Line

Combine the speed of a scooter with the curves of a skateboard and Pulse Slither, a fun ride is obtained in children from 7 years. The installation is difficult, but if that hurdle is cleared, your child will enjoy the effect of water Slither long.

More

  • High volume front wheels for a smoother ride
  • Small rear wheel rotates independently of closed curves
  • Turn to the front or to the side, like a skateboard
  • Cool graphics

Less

  • Difficult to assemble
  • Larger than the other popular scooters (but the neck folds for storage)

Description

  • Molded deck traction to help your feet in place
  • Maintained nodules and adjustable handlebar
  • Suba pushing with one foot on the ground, or the handlebars back and forth
  • Recommended for ages 7
  • Total weight limit of 175 pounds

Guide Review - Pulse Slither Drift Scooter

Neighbors and classmates Slither Scooter is a double-take on every case. Looks like a cross between a traditional scooter and a skateboard with handlebars. Children can ride and pushed with one foot. Or they can stand on the deck with both feet and pump the handle from side to side in order to drive you forward.

What distinguishes the front wheels by hand scooter Slither, connected to the large steering wheel is smaller in the back. This configuration allows the scooter much narrower than other corner roller and tricks and stuff. In addition, pumping the handle, rotating the hips and pushed her to give children a workout from head to toe feet.

My girl seven years found the bike a bit unwieldy, but with a little practice, I think it will be more comfortable and gain speed. This scooter is sure to hold 175 pounds, so that it can grow for a while with the child. It also allows a second child, a ride or a parent to give Slither pickup!

Momentum Slither was not as much fun as the ride. Mechanism the handlebars, wheels and foldable to install, and various tools are needed. The handlebar can be adjusted depending on the size of the child. The rotation of the rear bogie is also adjustable. You can adjust the spring tension to reduce side-to-side movement and speed. Loosen the spring to increase the movement from side to side, traveling and more cool tricks.

As with any certain toy scooter Slither risk of injury. Wearing a helmet is essential. Knee and elbow pads are also recommended in the instructions, even if the child in the front of this manual refills is (with a helmet on).

You may cones or other markers of bases to use the plate and the pitcher's mound, or take a series of rubber feet Baseball ( Compare Prices ).

How to pack healthy school lunches

Updated 1 January 2014.

I do not enjoy packing my kids lunch box exactly, but I try to remember that healthy school meals can really make a difference. Children feel better and learn better when they fed a nutritious meal. These tips help you pack school lunches to the call of a child.

Goals for healthy school lunches

First, your child wants to eat lunch to grab you! That is, food packaging, you know, he loves; Talk to him about what you put in your lunch (and teach him to do it myself!) And changes gradually, not suddenly switcheroos.

A second, equally important goal is to make a lunch, which adds nutritional value. Lunch should help your child get their daily dose of protein, fiber, fruits and vegetables. Look for foods that are rich in nutrients and low in sugar and ingredients that are just calories.

The best choice for healthier school meals

Include complex carbohydrates to help your child fully, protein, energy, fruit and vegetables for their antioxidants and fiber, and a gift or love to complement each note, so you can start the evening with a smile.

  • Whole grains: For breads, wraps, pasta and other starchy foods, choose whole grain varieties whenever possible. Make this gradual change, when children are reluctant to mix brown and white rice, for example, or a sandwich with a slice of white bread and a piece of bread.
  • Protein: There are many ways to go about peanut butter and lunch meat. Check out this list of suggestions for a healthy protein choices that perhaps their children.
  • Fruits and vegetables: I like one of each. Remember, your child needs at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, so why not check both the lunch break? Also remember that the whole fruit is a better choice than juice (even 100% fruit juice), because they contain less sugar and more fiber.
  • It is used to treat: If you want something more fun, try these suggestions for sweet and savory sandwiches still want some nutritional benefits.

Make meals more attractive

I'm not saying you should your child, or spend hours a sandwich that looks exactly like his favorite superhero. But these proven tactics often lure children their lunch in the limited time they have to eat.

  • Make mini. Classified versions of everyday foods (small sandwiches, corn) have a nice factor, the children arrive.
  • Select a special form If you serve is relatively flat, it can be cut with a cookie cutter. Sandwiches, crepes, cheese slices, wedges of melon and more.
  • Dip is a certain Thurs Whether ketchup, salad dressings, yogurt, hummus or cheese, pack a small container of dip and watchbands dunkables vegetables, fruit pieces, biscuits and disappear.

The association also encourages schools to plan daily rent for at least a period of 20 minutes. If your school does not meet these goals (many do not), ask the principal or school management, to account for changes and find ways to help your child to stay active outside of school hours.
