If the children a large part of their diet and calorie snack between meals, offer healthy snacks with protein. Protein is essential to the growth of the young also filling, so that the calorie a dual function. A word of warning: Beware of fat and salt. Both are for most children, in small quantities.
Try some of these options for a healthy protein snacks:
- low-fat cheese (sticks, cubes, discs, towers)
- Turkey, ham, roast beef or
- Turkey sausage, meatballs or sausage
- jerky, salami, pepperoni, or (view the versions of Turkey, in the little fat)
- boiled eggs
- Nuts
- Peanut butter and other nut butters
- Cream cheese
- Hummus or other soy sauces
- Yogurt (natural blend of fruit and / or a little honey, or look for low sugar flavored versions)
- Tofu
- Edamame (whole soybeans)
- Cottage cheese
- roasted chickpeas
- Crackers or chips enriched protein
